So, Syfy is rerunning SG-1 in a Marathon

And I'm pulling a disgust fit b/c of the chosen episodes and when they aired.

First, I don't watch Syfy anymore. I bailed pretty much when they canceled some favorites, namely SG-1, and when they changed their name.

Anyway, I was scratching my head at the list of episodes they chose. Apparently someone without a damn clue of the show chose the episodes.

This seems to be a favorite past time of certain networks who run marathons to have no idea what the hell they're showing. It's almost as if they thought, "Let's show some shitty episodes and placate a few diehards with a couple of good ones."

Can't look it back up, but here's what I remember: Starting with CotG, then Fifth Race, 1969, Window of Opportunity, Heroes, Lost City, Threads, Moebius, Unending.

I mean... where's TBFTGOG? WtSG/Serpent's Lair? Abyss? Cold Lazarus? Fair Game? Shades of Grey? Crystal Skull? The First Ones? Orpheus? Lifeboat? Well, you get the picture. *sighs*

When they guy who WROTE THE SCRIPT put that little whinge to bed years ago in the Essential Scripts book by confirming that Daniel planted the idea for rescue in Teal'c's mind, one wonders why said whinge is still perpetuated. Oh, wait ...

Many of the whingers wanted direct action by Daniel and didn't realize that it couldn't happen given the timing and the battling back and forth on bringing MS back.

OTOH, post-descended Daniel fics are good for angsty arguments with Jack.

Oh surprise Window of Opportunity...one of the most over-rated, always winning best episode of SG1 EVA polls because Sir kisses Sam...Yeuk!...the only thing worth watching that episode for is when RDA decides to stop play acting for pay and starts to REALLY act when facing Malaki at the end as he describes how it feels to lose his son....

I hate WoO. It had so much potential. There was so much one could have done there. But instead, they turn Jack into a douchebag by kissing Sam knowing that she'll never know. Fucker. It would have been the same had it been Daniel, frankly, so I don't like those fics either.

BUT. With fics, there's so much to play with if you substitute Teal'c with Daniel. I mean, that's what they should have done. WTF is Teal'c gonna do besides put a guy in the infirmary for slamming that door into him a hundred times. At this stage in his character, he's still boring as shit. :(

I've never been a huge Teal'c fan....I realise why Chris wrote all those Teal'c-centric episodes...tbh I actually preferred Teal'c in S.9 and 10....but even then the Jaffa storylines could get very very boring quickly...

I liked Teal'c too in S9 and 10. I liked him in S6 and 7. In 8, he sort of went to the background like Daniel did in season 4 and 5.

I'm not too sure about the WoO fic being a pornfic, although I do have it written down to do something with that ep. I feel like writing something a little more than a pornfic, yet I have no idea what. Will think on this for a while.

Haven't been writing the last few days. Back and tummy issues. Typical.
