I think they're a race who uses crystal in the same way we use steel, glass, and stone. :) Since the triple spiral is the oldest design symbol in Ireland, I figured that perhaps it comes from the Tuatha. The oldest Gaelic doesn't, having tracked that language already, but the information retained about the Tuatha suggests that their names and mythic info, such as the names of the cities they came from as well as their magical objects, are genuinely Tuathan. :)
