Getting back into writing and plotting
Aug. 13th, 2016 08:36 amMy plunge back into writing with the JD Ficathon entry, "Reunion", was a step toward getting my ass back into writing my Trilogy series.
Sadly, I've lost so much of my ability to properly write exposition and "filler". My last chapter, Trilogy 13, was 188 pages of detailed storyline. I may have gone a bit overboard, but I couldn't see where it may have been trimmed. Still, I was rather proud of it.
Comparing that against my current project, Trilogy 14, and my opinion about my writing losses is valid. I'm on page 38 (yay, something is done at any rate) and I am damn near *finished*. I don't see where the plot should be added to. I've lost my ability to create detailed exposition and filler. Now, I've gone back through the story, filled in exposition where I think it needed, and I'm pretty sure where I'll need to put it in next, but after that is done, I'll only have 40 pages. I've perhaps got another five to write, so let's end the story at 45. 45? Forty-fucking-five?
What in the hell happened? I just don't understand. Okay, I understand that if you stop writing for a while, say having writer's block due to stress, it will take a bit of the usual "writer's stress" to get back to form, but come on! 45 pages?
I'm seriously at a loss.

I Made a Bad Writer boo-boo
Oct. 17th, 2014 12:06 amI've been looking through photos for other Trinity/Trilogy characters to "paint", especially those secondary characters who aren't always front and center. So I thought of Jason's team, SG-2, and his 2IC, Alex Wagner, is an easy one since he looks like Paul Walker, but with brown eyes. I started to look for the pics that describe the other two team members and after a bit of research through Trinity and Trilogy, I realized that I've never fully described their appearances. At first, they were "background" characters, but I then gave them personalities and spouses so why the hell hadn't I ever given them descriptions?
*sigh*
*sigh*

Dammit, I Missed The Ficathon Assignment
Jul. 25th, 2014 01:02 pmWell ... crap.
I've been busy writing up the latest chapter of my Trilogy series. Nearly at 100 pages. Anyway, there've been some conflicts so I haven't been reading DW as much as I had, and health tends to get in the way, too.
I haven't asked PoG if there's something I can do, given that it's far too late. So if anyone was anticipating something from me (unlikely, but there it is), I apologize for missing it. Maybe I'll get to join in the next one. :)
After I'm done with my current story, I'm planning on some separate J/D stories, so perhaps I can make up for not paying attention. *eyeroll*

Fiction Graphic Illustration
Jun. 9th, 2014 06:15 pmHave made this for the next chapter in my Trilogy series. May still tinker with it, but it's mostly done. The place, or planet, is the home of my version of the "Furling", and in my head, they're the ancient people who visited Ireland, the Tuatha De Danann.
The buildings shaped like teardrops are made of crystal. It's difficult to create crystal given my so-so knowledge of photoshop, so I've done what I could to make the point well enough for my own "stare at picture and woolgather the writing scenes" purposes. ;) The foreground buildings are underground access points. The gate sits atop a slab platform of crystal. The triple spiral atop it is the icon symbol of the Tuatha, and it also appears etched into hills.
Am wondering what's left to put into the graphic, but I think I've covered everything. As for what the Tuatha look like, they look human. No fur. *eyeroll* *smirk*

Feedback is welcome. *peeks thru fingers*

Character Creating Software
Feb. 28th, 2014 10:02 pmI think I've found the character creation software. It's 3D. Here's hoping I can actually work with it. Even better, create 3D models of Daniel, Jack, Jason, Adriann, Sam, Teal'c, etc., etc., ad nauseam.
See, back in the old days, before my goddamn carpal tunnel, I drew everything. I have my computer now, and so I have a tablet and pen, and I went about learning it all with glee. Trouble is, the carpal tunnel is bad with that, too. It's the holding of the pen (or pencil) that does it. Numbness, tingling, sharp zaps of lightning up the middle of the wrist... yada yada blah blah blah shit.
So, I've been looking for something that will let me skip all the flat drawing. Give me a generalized face, with the average placements of eyes, nose, mouth, and I'll take it from there, tweaking until I've got it all right. Then let me add hair, makeup, clothing, etc. I just might be able to render pictures of my characters, and then be able to use them for fiction headings and general art rendering pages instead of having to hunt through thousands of screen captures looking for something that looks right---in this case, SG-1 characters and episode pics.
*sigh* So, crossing fingers that the learning curve is for morons. ;)
Adriann Avatar
Feb. 28th, 2014 08:39 pmWell, 50% of him anyway.

My OC, Adriann. As much as I could do for him. The mouth is wrong, the brows are wrong, the cheekbones need to be higher. His eyes need to be bigger.
Ya know, if I could just find a program to buy that helps me create a person, visually, in the same way that you might use for describing a criminal (fcol), I'd buy it. The only thing I've found so far is 3D Imaging. Nope, don't need that. I'm a moron when it comes to modeling in 3D.
Anyways. This is what I'm up to while I mentally labor over my next bit of writing. ;)

Talenn Avatar
Feb. 28th, 2014 07:58 pm
Been fooling about with avatars and came across this D&D-type site. Thought of my OC, Talenn (old spelling, Talen -- I gave her two 'n's b/c her brother Adriann has two 'n's), so I messed about until I got something that was 50% close enough. ;) Her hair needs to be longer, mouth fuller and narrower, eyes should be light grey, she needs to be wearing suede and silk in the colors of twilight, and the sword designs should be made of bone with etching. BUT, all in all, given this avatar creator, here she sort of is anyway. ;)

I'm now posting to my Wordpress blog, on Wordpress.com, and will do the same for my new website blog when I have that finished. I wish LJ and DW had the capability to cross-post from Wordpress; it would be so much easier.
Until there's a sharing capability for DW and LJ, I'll just have to post links (I *could* just paste the blog entry, but I'm lazy).

Trilogy Smut
Jun. 7th, 2010 12:45 pmIt's taking a while (cause it'll be long, as usual) so here's an excerpt.
Trilogy 11 is about Jack, Daniel, and Jason being stranded on an alien world. Stuck for a bit over three months, they have plenty of privacy and plenty of time to work out a few kinks.
( Day 10 )
