Happy Easter
Apr. 18th, 2014 10:58 pmHappy Easter everyone. Hope the day is fun for you. :)
------------
Walked to the corner store today, and got my food order from Schwan's, too. From the store folk, I get "Happy Easter", as well as from Ed, my delivery guy from Schwan's.
I said, "Happy Easter" back.
And then they had to ruin it by asking me what I was doing for Easter. *eyeroll* So I said, "Well, I've already celebrated Easter, on the Equinox. I'm a Wiccan." The looks I get are always priceless. "Words fail them" is an understatement. LMAO! Idjits.
I wanted to add, "Easter was originally a pagan festival celebrated on the 1st day of Spring. The Christian heads of church moved it away from the pagan connection sometime during the Middle Ages (if memory serves, but I'm not completely certain on the date) as partial incentive and compromise while they forced their religion on others." But I kept it at "I'm a Wiccan." ;)
So what did I do. Nothing, in the matter of lighting candles and incense and saying prayers. Those items are way down my list of "things to buy". Till then, everything is done in my head. ;)
