That not once in 10 seasons did SG-1 use a tent for cover offworld. They almost always had alien roofs or a cave.
So that means that if you stick as close to canon as possible in your story, the use of a tent would automatically make it AU. OTOH, technically, everything we write is AU. Slash, Ship, or Gen, it makes no difference. ;)
